Deerpath Plaza Lake Forest, Illinois Completion: 1989 Area: 47,000 square feet Site & Program: The site is a prominent corner in this north shore suburb, two blocks from Howard Van Doren Shaw’s historic Market Square. The program consists of first floor retail shops and office space above. A below-grade garage provides parking for 65 cars. Design: Nagle Hartray divided the program into two buildings linked by an enclosed atrium and a clock tower. The architecture blends seamlessly with its historic neighbors, including City Hall. Steeply pitched roofs, bay windows and a textured material palette are rooted in local building traditions.
