First Bank of Oak Park Renovation Oak Park, Illinois Completion: 1991 Area: 25,000 square feet Site & Program: The corner site included four separate structures from the 1920s. The bank had consolidated the structures for their use before deciding on renovation to improve their image. Design: Nagle Hartray wrapped a new masonry enclosure around the independent structures, which was a challenge due to substantial structural deterioration. The unified image gave the bank a new identity. Masonry detailing fits the building into the historic architectural heritage of the community. Photography: ©Hedrich Blessing
