Garibaldi Square Townhouses Chicago, Illinois Completion: 1987 Area: 140,000 square feet Awards: Excellence in Masonry and Urban Land Institute Award of Excellence Site & Program: The 7.8-acre site is located in an old west-side Chicago neighborhood. The program consists of 128 townhouses, 44 apartments and a hotel to serve the nearby medical campus. Design: Nagle Hartray designed a neighborhood within a neighborhood. Planning extends existing street and pedestrian patterns, and at the same time defines new urban spaces.
