Bartlett Village Hall
Bartlett, Illinois

Completion: 2005 (est.)

Area: 30,000 square feet

Site & Program: This new village hall will replace the existing on the same site, which also includes the Police Station and a fire station. The Village Hall includes public meeting rooms, staff offices, the local historical society and a police training room.

Design: Nagle Hartray’s plan creates a municipal campus and saves the Village the substantial costs associated with temporary relocation. The new Village Hall will be constructed in the existing parking lot, then the existing village hall will be demolished and replaced with surface parking. The resulting u-shaped plan formed by Village Hall, Police Station and Fire Station opens to the Village’s Main Street and new town center development.

The informal architecture reflects the community’s rural setting. Materials and forms derive from both existing municipal structures and the new mixed use town center project across the street. Together these projects will establish a new identity for downtown Bartlett.
