Chicago Sinai Congregation Chicago, Illinois Completion: 2005 (est.) Area: 9,600 square feet Site & Program: This project consists of the expansion of a recently completed temple in an urban area. The addition will house classrooms, offices and a redesigned 100-seat chapel. Design: The success of the Nagle Hartray addition is evidenced by the difficulty distinguishing it from the original temple. The addition improves the fit of the temple within its urban context by defining a stronger presence at the street corner. The architecture extends the language of the original building including its primary exterior material, which is Kasota stone. |
