Bishop Lyne Retirement Residence
Lemont, Illinois

Completion: 2002

Area: 27,000 square feet

Award: Excellence in Masonry, Silver Medal

Site & Program: This 18-unit priest retirement home is part of Holy Family Village, which also includes Poor Clare Monastery and Holy Family Village Skilled Care (see Portfolio Housing section). All units are designed for assisted living. Amenities include dining and worship spaces.

Design: The Bishop Lyne Retirement Residence together with the other facilities of Holy Family Village form a community based on shared religious values. The Village allows nuns, priests and laity to age in place. This retirement residence forms the entry courtyard together with the skilled care facility. The informal masonry architecture reflects the community’s bucolic setting.
