Courtyard House Dallas, Texas Completion: 2003 Area: 10,000 square feet Award: Chicago AIA Distinguished Building Award Publications: Western Interiors & Design, Home & Architectural Trends Site & Program: The 75 by 225-foot site is located in suburban Dallas. It is the third residence Nagle Hartray designed for this client. The residence displays the owners’ extensive art and furniture collections. Design: Nagle Hartray wrapped living spaces around a courtyard with swimming pool. Traditional room arrangements are inverted – sleeping areas are located towards the front of the house towards the street and main living areas towards the rear to take better advantage of outdoor living. The architecture reflects the owners’ modern collections. The exterior is clad in painted metal panels. Interior room arrangements and materials flow one into another and from inside to outside.
